In 2009, MPC teamed up with WPB to transform the Polish Triangle, located at the intersection of Division Street, Ashland Avenue, and Milwaukee Avenue, into a well-used public space. Through an online network group, online survey, and open house, more than 700 people contributed their ideas for transforming the space. This report summarizes this input and identifies ways to implement some of the changes recommended by residents. To download the PDF, visit MPC’s website here or stop by the WPB office for a copy.
Make Believe is part of Chicago Artists Month 2010, the fifteenth annual celebration of Chicago’s vibrant visual art community. In October, more than 200 exhibitions of emerging and established artists, openings, demonstrations, tours, open studios and neighborhood art walks take place at galleries, cultural centers and arts buildings throughout the city. Chicago Artists Month is coordinated by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs. For more information, visit www.chicagoartistsmonth.org.
When you pass through the intersection at Milwaukee, Wood and Wolcott, do you scratch your head wondering where exactly you belong in your car, on your bike, or on foot? Come to a meeting at 7pm on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 to see what the future holds for that intersection, and to provide your input on how the proposed improvements can better accommodate all of us. We will meet at the intersection, weather permitting. PLEASE RSVP FOR THE MEETING by Friday, July 23 so that we can plan accordingly. Click here to see the flyer for the public meeting on 7.27.2010.
