‘Unwrap Wicker Park Bucktown’ – Holiday Passport Program to Launch
Weekend of Do-Division Holiday Shopping Event, December 3 – 4
CHICAGO, IL (November 11, 2011) – Chicago’s biggest holiday extravaganza is taking over the Wicker Park & Bucktown neighborhoods this year when the new ‘Unwrap Wicker Park Bucktown’ holiday passport program launches with exclusive events during the festive weekend of Do-Division Holiday and Renegade Craft Fair Holiday Market, December 3rd and 4th. Free trolleys will circulate shoppers throughout all three areas of activity from 11 am to 6 pm throughout the weekend – creating the city’s largest interconnected holiday shopping and dining experience.
ABOUT UNWRAP WICKER PARK BUCKTOWN:
The Wicker Park & Bucktown Chamber of Commerce invites you to unwrap the best deals in the city this holiday season at some of Chicago’s most well-known businesses. The exclusive Unwrap WPB holiday passport gives shoppers an extra reason to visit one of the city’s hottest retail destinations and satisfy all their holiday needs. The printed ‘passport’ directs customers to over 50 local stores, restaurants and service providers in Wicker Park & Bucktown, offering incredible deals that run from December 3rd to December 24th.
By presenting the passport at a participating merchant at any point over the 3-week span, shoppers are privy to exclusive sales and discounts such as: gift certificates at boutiques; deep discounts at salons, spas, galleries, markets, and theatres; freebies at restaurants and cafes; and much more. Free to the public, passports can be obtained at any of the 56 participating businesses or by downloading it at wickerparkbucktown.com/WPBpassport. Passport holders can present the passports from December 3rd through December 24th at participating merchants, which run wide throughout the Wicker Park & Bucktown vicinity.
Unwrap WPB kicks off on December 2nd with a party of its own from 6 pm to 8 pm as part of First Friday at the Flat Iron Arts Building, 1579 N Milwaukee. Join us to pick-up your passport copy, enjoy refreshments, mingle with artists and see a presentation on our latest public art program, the Orange Walls mural project – sponsored by the WPB SSA. Throughout the rest of the weekend, other Unwrap WPB kickoff activities include: a 3-course holiday breakfast at Prasino on Sat, Dec 3 at 9 am; appetizers and drinks by Native Foods on Sat, Dec 3 from 3 pm to 6 pm at Jackson Junge Gallery; NeuroKitchen Arts Collective theatre demos on Sat, Dec 3 from 11 am to 5 pm at Near North West Arts Council; refreshments, gift certificates and massages on Sun, Dec 4 from 11 am to 2 pm at Division Chiropractic and Acupuncture; and of course, the Do-Division Holiday Event and Renegade Craft Fair Holiday Market – as detailed below.

ABOUT DO-DIVISION HOLIDAY:
The annual Do-Division Holiday shopping event, December 3rd to 4th, is when the popular retail street comes alive with seasonal cheer and incredible holiday specials on everything from designer duds to hand-crafted suds at dozens of participating shops and restaurants along the Do-Division strip!
A free, family-friendly occasion, Do-Division Holiday is a fun way for Chicagoans to holiday shop while getting acquainted with a distinctive corridor of the city filled with unique and independently-owned shops and restaurants that are matchless in charm. Organized by the West Town Chicago Chamber of Commerce and the Wicker Park & Bucktown Chamber of Commerce, Do-Division Holiday features deep discounts of its own at boutiques; discounts on salon and spa treatments; specials on appetizers and drinks at restaurants; and much more.
Do-Division Holiday begins at 11 am on Saturday and Sunday and continues both days until the last participant closes (closing times vary – see website below for individual store hours). The event location is Division Street between Milwaukee and Leavitt. Do-Division Holiday also includes: free horse-drawn carriage rides (both days from noon to 5 pm up and down Division); and Santas and Elves roaming the Division strip handing out coupons and gift certificates (again from noon to 5 pm both days).
