Orange Walls Mural Project
CHICAGO – September 7, 2011 – Six public murals sponsored by the Wicker Park Bucktown Special Service Area #33, a program administered by the WPB Chamber of Commerce, are underway! Submissions coming from around the world flooded the WPB Chamber of Commerce office, and in late August a jury of Chicago arts professionals selected six artists to each receive a $5,000 honorarium to complete a mural.

The Orange Walls
Forward-thinking building owners in Wicker Park Bucktown have stepped up to support the arts and host these public murals on their visible walls. As the artists prepare to install their murals, bright orange tarps marked with the WPB logo will function as placeholders on the mural sites, alerting the Wicker Park Bucktown community to keep their eyes on the location. Though each artist is working on their own schedule, all murals will be completed by October 21, 2011.
